Lymphatic Massage
Lymphatic massage is the systematic and gentle manipulation of the body’s soft tissues. The therapist applies manual techniques such as fixed or movable pressure to the body. This type of massage improves lymphatic flow towards the lymph nodes and facilitates the draining of lymphatic fluid along draining lymph nodes and eventually back to the bloodstream. It is a long-standing therapy to reduce swelling.
The lymphatic system is a network of fine tubes that removes fluid (known as lymph) seeped into the tissues from the blood arteries and returns it to the bloodstream via the lymph nodes. Lymphedema occurs when there is an abnormal accumulation of interstitial fluid due to a deficiency in the lymphatic system. It typically occurs in the limbs but can also occur in other body areas, such as the abdomen, genital, face, and neck.
How long is the treatment?
Each lymphatic massage session lasts 60 minutes. The massage is done over the course of 7 or 10 days, according to the instructions from our consultant based on the conditions of the individual.
What are the benefits?
Lymphatic massage helps reabsorption of lymphatic fluid and removes waste and toxins from body tissues. The massage improves the health of the lymphatic circulatory systems. It boosts overall health and wellness for a better quality of life.
